Mastatal Music

While in Costa Rica, I taught a daily music and English class at the local elementary school. There were nine students, ages 5-12, and they were very patient with me–in fact, I learned a lot of my Spanish from them! We wrote and performed “Mastatal,” a sort of anthem for their town, and “Canto del Juco,” a song about their local river and their sadness over its having been poisoned. Please visit the Costa Rica page to see what else I was up to there.
